To Buliisa

On sunday, May 29, we travelled from Kampala to Buliisa, which is situated on the edge of Lake Albert, just a few kilometres away from the North Western Ugandan border with the Congo to spend a week in the area celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. Some 50 kilometres past Masindi we drove down the steep escarpment which commands a magnificent view of Lake Albert and the mountains of Eastern Congo. From the bottom of the escarpment to Buliisa we drove along the edge of the Bungugu Game Reserve which abuts the Murchison Falls Game Park Reserve and we saw herds of Uganda Cob, many baboons including mothers with new-born babies clinging to them, some in trees, some sitting in the middle of the road unafraid of people, and others just drifting along in the bushes. Also there was an abundance of Warthogs, Colobus monkeys and a great variety of birds, some we have never seen before. It was a great opportunity for taking many photos, both of the scenery and the animals, and appreciating the beauty, diversity and creative genius of our God and and Father.
